Bio

Marianna Nomikou is a member of the Opera Studio of the Landestheater Detmold for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons.

Born in Athens, she began her musical education at the age of six in a choir, and at the age of nine on the piano. At the age of 15 she sang the role of Bastienne in Mozart’s “Bastien und Bastienne” at the Greek National Opera in Athens. In 2017 she began her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Prof. Holger Speck and after two years switched to the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in the class of KS. Prof. Mario Zeffiri, where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in 2021, and her Master’s Degree in Opera in Juli 2023. She then continued her studies with a second Master’s program in Song Interpretation in the class of Prof. Manuel Lange, which she completed in July 2025. She attended master classes with KS. Prof. Siegfried Jerusalem, Prof. Snežana Stamenković, Prof. Daphne Evangelatos and Prof. Turid Karlsen.

In 2024, she portrayed the role of the Patient Soprano in the German premiere of Iiro Rantala’s »Sanatorium Express« at the Kammeroper Frankfurt and participated in the project »Moirolói« under the direction of Giorgos Ziavras.

In 2022 she won, among others, the 1st Prize in the 2° International Bel Canto Online Singing Competition, the 2nd prize at the 13° Concours Lyrique International »Bell’ Arte«, the 2nd prize at the 14° Concorso Internazionale di Musica »Luigi Cerritelli & Marcello Abbado«, the 2nd prize at the 24° Concorso Internazionale »Pietro Argento«, the 2nd Prize in the “Music in the Vinyards” online Competition 2022, and the 3rd prize at the 2° Concorso Lirico Internazionale »Magliano Citta di Musica«. She was also a prizewinner of the 31st International Singing Competition at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. She is a scholarship receipient of the Union of Greek Shipowners.
